Cats, New Novel and Ponch
Feb. 5th, 2004 06:28 pmHello, I'm new here, and I was wondering who has read "The Book Of Night With Moon" and/or "To Vist The Queen" and what they thought about it. I am personally obsessed with it because it just so completely captures cats and it's funny without trying too hard, the whole idea is wonderful, the wizardry is wonderful and it's CATS.
Also, I'm really antisipating at arival of "Wizards At War" though I sort of, er, worried about the titles. War? What type that they haven't already been fighting and how.
One last thing. What's up with Ponch? I know that most wizard's pets soak up some magic, and that's what his dimensional thing is, but Diane Duane keeps hinting by writing soemthing like "And he watched thoughtfully as Kit slept, thinking ect ect." The dogs are barking to him, and he spoke to Urruah in Ailurian, which I've not traclated. What do you think is happening. I personally think it's some sort of embodiment of some dog god. Still, it's only really started up in the last few books so I don't know.

Date: 2004-02-06 03:43 am (UTC)As for Wizards at War, Dd has made several rather pointed comments that seme to imply it will be a rather large-scale war, flashy and dramatic and cool. :D I'm looking forward to it! From Holiday, I suspect maybe it will be an interplanetary war... v exciting. :p
As for Ponch- the truth is, no-one knows. DD is positively enjoying watching us squirm, I know that- but apart from that no-ones' had anything concrete. Oh well. :) We'll find out, I guess..
For a LOT more on both of those topics, you shouild check out Young Wizards.net (http://www.youngwizards.net) and especially the forum. There's a lot of great stuff there, and heaps of info from DD.

Date: 2004-02-06 03:19 pm (UTC)I supose it would be (romance that is ) because DD hinted a lot a lot with Rhiow and... that other cat. I forget his name. But she's spayed O.O and Urrauh already has kittens. But Aruh is so odd, I don't know what's goign to happen with him. It would be great if that book DD is going to write after Wizards At War is another cat book.
