azurelunatic: Small boy making faces. Animated. (Little Fayoumis)
[personal profile] azurelunatic posting in [community profile] youngwizards_dw
I was at my first con on Saturday (LepreCon 30) and in the dealers' room I happened across a wonderful thing -- the first five books in hardback, all together.

So.

My virtual nephew, the Little Fayoumis, shall benefit from this, as I haven't a need for duplicate copies at the present moment, and the hardback is easier to tote around than five individual volumes at one time. He's almost of an age to be appreciating it, and occasionally I do read bits of it aloud to him.

oh wow.

I have the one with the first three, and was wondering whether there would be a volume with the others in it.

Yeah. Sort of sucks on the level that you could use it as a doorstop or a weapon by the time it's said and done. Otherwise I sort of like having everything just right there.

Sounds like a dream come true. Then again, I shouldn't let myself near one. I'm the sort of crazy person who buys second copies of their favorite books because they own different covers.
Anyway, nice luck on that.

I do buy them for that purpose as well, except I still end up reading my old battered copy, with all it's beauty and memories. And falling out pages. And missing coversz.
