Dai Stihò! I promised you all that I'd post an info post for CrossingsCon, but it's taken longer than I thought. Thanks for your patience!

CrossingsCon is, first and foremost, this universe's only convention founded on Diane Duane’s Young Wizards. Year Three is taking place June 21-23, 2019 in Montréal, Québec, Canada. You can buy a badge here!

More specifically, CrossingsCon is a moment out of time, where people can come together to share their Art and have fun doing it. It's a place where, just for a weekend, the wizardry that is usually just around the corner is instead right in front of you. Inspired by the Young Wizards series and other stories, we celebrate the power of storytelling to literally change our lives and the world around us. The Crossings is a huge melting pot of cultures, people, and ideas, and we strive to emulate it to the extent we can (although as yet we are limited to planet Earth). We look forward to greeting cousins we know and welcoming cousins we haven't met yet, because in hearing their stories, we become family.

This year, our guests of honor are Diane Duane herself, Mark Oshiro of Mark Reads and author of Anger is a Gift, and Kate Howells of The Planetary Society and author of Space Is Cool As Fuck. You can read more about our guests here. We'll have readings, signings, and panels with each of our three guests, as well as other fun events, although much of the schedule is still in flux this far out from the convention.

Our hotel this year is the beautiful Hyatt Regency Montréal, at 1255 Jeanne-Mance, Montréal, Québec, Canada, H5B 1E5. We have a discounted room block for CrossingsCon attendees at the Hyatt Regency from June 20-24, 2019. Rooms are $219 CAD, which is about $170 USD at current rates. The room block will be open until May 30, 2019. As of If you cannot get a room in the room block, please let us know! Space is limited, but we want to try to find a place for everyone who wants to attend, and we will make every effort to get you into the room block or find something nearby.

I recall someone asking specifically here about what to do if you don't think you can afford to come to the convention, and we do have a scholarship fund available! The fund covers, at minimum, a full weekend con badge, but if donations allow, it could cover more. To apply for the scholarship send an email to scholarship@crossingscon.org and tell us a bit about yourself: What assistance do you need? Are you a first-time congoer, or do you go to conventions often? What's your relationship with the Young Wizards books and the works of our Guests of Honor? On receiving your request, we will put you on the list of potential scholarship recipients, and notify you when we have the donations to support giving you a scholarship badge. You can read more about the scholarship fund on our website, including how to donate to it.

I'll post more information over the next couple weeks and as I have new information to share with you! Feel free to comment if there's a specific question you wanted me to address. I hope to see you this summer!

Thank you for posting this here!

The first CrossingsCon was awesome, and though I wasn't able to come to the second (and likely not this one, unfortunately), I absolutely recommend going if you can.

Unless I win the lotto (and I don't play), I'm fairly sure I won't be coming. I really want to-- DD!!!!!!-- but finances are finances.

I had not known about the scholarship badge before! =O

I should look into that this semester... (though my parents may also be more lenient about me going if I can line up an out-of-school job)
