Off the top of anyone's head, do we get a description of Nita any earlier than that scene in Wizards at War where she's looking in the mirror at a pimple?

I'm trying to do a series of first-appearance quotes for the YW fan tumblr I run, and I can get a bunch of good ones for other people - Kit and Dairine both get several good ones in the first three books, I'm having trouble picking one each - but man, I can't get hold of anything for Nita. (While I'm at it: which is your favourite Lone Power? I am super-partial to Alone!LP in his suit, scarf, and big black sword.)

SYWTBAW describes her as having grey eyes and dark hair, but I don't remember when and where. Probably in the early chapters when the rest of her family is being described.

And favorite LP? As Itself, I fancy the Corporate Evil type, wearing a suit in alternate Manhattan. But I thought its absolute best turn was from inside Logo.

Ooh, good pick re: Logo. I have to agree. (I also love corporate evil!LP. Particularly when he's arguing with "Mike", presumably the Michael Power - adorbs.)

I'm fairly certain she's mentioned as wearing glasses... And dark hair for sure. I'd look it up, but I didn't have room to bring the physical books with me to university (making due with the audio books). :/

Oh, and favorite LP is definitely the one in the office building, with his suit, and his telephone conversations. "Someone's soul is going to writhe..." (...or whatever the line is...)

I just packed my books away to move so I'm feeling extremely good about the fact that I splurged on the ebooks a couple months ago - being separated from this series is difficult for me!

Me too! But I loaned 'em to a friend who had never read them before, so at least I know they're being appreciated. She and her husband are both hooked now, so I consider it a job well done. ^..~

Hm, not so much description of Nita, though I guess that doesn't surprise me since the narration is primarily focalized through her perspective in the beginning of the series, and she's not the kind of person to spend time describing herself (for that matter, neither are the other narrators the kinds of people who would spend much time describing Nita -- when Kit suddenly finds himself paying attention to the way she looks, it's definitely a cue to the reader!).

I'm personally a fan of alt-Manhattan corporate-evil LP, but I suspect this is just because that image had years to imprint itself in my brain before AWAl was even released...

Well, no - but Kit gets a describing passage in the first three books, and so does Dairine. (EVERYONE gets one in Wizards at War, from Nita on down. There's an extent to which POV is played a little bit fast and loose in some situations, like descriptions. I mean, by HW Nita knows what Kit looks like, but she still thinks it over, you know?

Anyway, it's not that I care except for queuing up a bunch of posts, so :P

That version is so good, I agree. It does show up as Balor and as Logo in pre-Al books tho! And inside Pralaya, where I also like It.
