Superman has a facility with language. He speaks all human languages fluently, and writes for a living.
He also has proven, at least once, that he is willing to die in the line of duty.
Magic is also one of his weaknesses.
So, if he had been offered the Oath as a (pre-)teenager, and had taken it, could he kick his own butt?
And would he be able to convince kryptonite not to hurt him?
And I still need a YW icon.

Yep. A completely normal kid born to supergenius bioparents and adopted by abnormally virtuous adoptive parents.
Upon considering the adage that "Superman is the world's hero, but Superman's hero is Jonathan Kent," maybe Jonathan Kent's an abdal. . . .

Date: 2009-07-14 04:17 am (UTC)Ironically, my friend says that for their new 'verse, the writers relied on someone's Star Trek books a little more than others. Now, this may or may not be true, as I heard it from someone who got her info Who-Knows-Where. But, it might explain why upon seeing the red matter, my mind might have gone, "That is not unlike something Diane Duane might think up. That's the Lone Power all the way."
HMMMMMM, I say!
