Hi! My name's Brianne and I'm very new to live journal. When I made my account I decided to search Young Wizards because hey, Young Wizards is awesomeness on a stick, and saw a community specifically for it. I was pretty darn excited.

So yup, I'm a noob, but a young wizards loving noob so hopefully that makes it okay : )

I'd love some friends on here and I come bearing a question.

Has anybody else heard rumors of a movie?

Hope I didn't bother you all, but I was just wondering.

First of all, welcome to the comm! It's always nice to have more people here.

Diane Duane's working on the script for a So You Want to Be a Wizard movie, although she hasn't said anything about it's having found a studio home yet. She's posted script excerpts here (http://dduane.livejournal.com/99051.html?nc=44) and FAQs there (http://dduane.livejournal.com/99051.html?nc=44), and there are some squee-type posts on casting (http://community.livejournal.com/youngwizards/45512.html?nc=34) and directing (http://community.livejournal.com/youngwizards/52134.html#cutid1) right here in this comm.

Dai! It's a pretty small town here, so it's nice to see some new activity.

There's little to add to everyone else's comments, but DD stresses that if there is a movie it'll be out around 2009 I think...at the very best.

I think everyone else has pretty well answered the movie question, but I just thought I'd say hi, and welcome! Again, as others have said we're a pretty small fandom but we're all very friendly and we love to talk. A lot of us met over at youngwizards.net (http://www.youngwizards.net), where DD herself hosts the official forums-- so you should definitely check those out too! Plus, that means you get to talk with DD once a month or so if you sign up for the monthly chats :)

Thanks everyone! A friend of mine mentioned it a while ago and I wasn't sure if it was true, but that's been more than cleared up.

I found out about the youngwizards site on FF.net and sadly yes, I do post there every once in a while.
