Favourite character?

Hi everyone! *waves* New to the online fandom but not to the books - I never even thought of looking up the fandom, but I found "So You Want To Be A Wizard" in the local library when I was, oh, about 10? and haven't stopped rereading since. I've only read up to "A Wizard Alone" though, the libraries here don't have anything past that and I keep forgetting to go to the bookshops before they close, since I go to university full-time during semester and work full-time over summer. :)

Anyway, I hope this post is allowed - I didn't see an earlier one on the same topic in the last couple of years? My question's this: who's your favourite character, and more importantly why?

From reading the first 6 books, my favourite is Ronan - there's something a bit mysterious about hiim that seizes me and makes me want to know more, and he sounds hot. Heh. I hear he's back in W@W or something, but I haven't wanted to spoil myself so I don't know anything about that yet (really need to get myself to a bookshop!).

I think Nita is my only candidate for favorite character, because she's the only one who feels real to me; rather, she's the only one I feel that I can know, whose reactions I can predict and enjoy. I am fond of Ronan, though. :-) He has a lot of potential.

Nita's definitely my favorite. I can relate to her, for one--being female, I have a harder time connecting with Kit and the other males. Heh, most of the chars are males, now that I think of it. Even Ponch is male. Carmela is . . . too odd for my tastes. Definitely not someone I understand very well. Dairine is definitely second-favorite--I feel like I'm somewhere in between her and Nita--gifted but nowhere near as bright as Dairine, yet I understand Dairine's hunger for knowledge, the idea that if you can just learn enough you'll make it . . . But Nita, I understand the loneliness, the withdrawal into self, the misfitting . . . Maybe I've revealed too much of myself here, but that's who I love and why.

Out of all the books, Ed has really been my favorite character, and I'm not entirely sure why. He's just such an interesting and complex character.

As for getting ahold of the rest of the books, have you tried ILL? Most university libraries (and some local ones) have good ILL connections.

I'd guess ILL is a US thing? I live in Australia. :)

It means inter-library loan, where libraries share books between them. It could be a US thing, I've never had occasion to find out. Sorry :) And good luck!

Ah, I see! We have a reciprocal inter-university program called CAVAL, but I think there's a fee to use it - I've never needed it. ^_^ Not sure if the libraries around here would even have them though, The Wizard's Dilemma is in our education library but none of the others. eBay shipping to Australia is ridiculous to say the least, but in the last resort I'm probably going to be in the US a couple of weeks in July so I'll buy them and have them shipped to my uncle in Pennsylvania. :)

Of course, I'm doing everything in my power to try and get them here first. I can't wait six months! XD

Favorite character? Dairine. I thought she was an annoying little bratty menace until I realized that she and I are very much similar in character :P

My favorite character is actually from the Cat Wizards books, and is definately Rhiow. ^^ But from the regular YW books, Nita, though I also really like Tom and Carl and have a deep desire to know more about what their early partnership was like.

I just love Nita, Kit and Dairine. In some ways Dairine's more fun to read about - but every now and then I just stop for a second and think about how much I actually love Nita, which is: a lot. She's so honest and so real to me, a genuine person. And what a gal; IMO she's truly decent and caring and brave and committed and amazing. Does that make her my favourite? I dunno; Kit gets me every time with his jokes and insouciance and Dairine is so kickass I can't deal. Tom & Carl are fully awesome. And I love (and miss!) Peach beyond the telling.

OHHHHH....favorite character...Dairine, maybe. But I have enjoyed all the characters that I've read about. OHHH...and I definitely love Roshaun cause he reminds me of Draco Malfoy!!! =D (gotta love the bad boys!!)

Ronan, wow, my first impression: I want to marry him. He's broody, he's British, he's perfect! =D And I believe that you will LOVE W@W. (And A Wizard's Holiday is awesome too, you learn MUCH more about the characters and you even meet more...(ie Roshaun since you proally didn't recognize the name anyway).

And dont' worry about the college thing, I know where you're coming from, but luckily, working in a bookstore has helped me out greatly!! And you can also shop online. Thanks heaps for the link! I searched on regular eBay and couldn't find too much (nothing within Australia at all!) so hopefully some of those sellers will ship to Australia for a reasonable price. :)

*giggles* I get Ronan! Yay! It's just a pity that he's in his 30s by now. ;_; That's a little too old for me, I think. I want Ronan at AWA age. ^_^

Wow, tough choice. All of the above? :) Just flat-out overall favorite, it has to be Nita. She's not perfect -- she doesn't want to be the one to have to sacrifice herself, but she'll still do it whole-heartedly in the end if that's what needs to be done.

Favorite out of the secondary characters is definitely Carmela. I just love how she just totally falls in with this whole weird universe out there, learns how to negotiate with chocolate, and is absolutely ready to save the world with her curling iron.

My favorite Charactor has to be Ronan.He is so hot. But I like Roshaun and dairine too. It's so hard to decide. I just love this series
