I was rereading The Door Into Fire a couple nights ago and suddenly I realized where Duane got the name that So You Want to Be a Wizard lists internally as the author.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, and want an excuse to reread books, don't click the LJ-CUT.

Hearnssen... I believe that's the correct spelling? And multiple times early in Fire we see the phrase "Herewiss, Hearn's Son". I think the first one is "From Herewiss Hearn's Son to his sire..."

In retrospect, it seems rather obvious, but I didn't catch it until now.

I noticed that a couple of years ago. All of Duane's books have these little internal references. I also recall seeing her name written on a videotape in an episode of Batman: The Animated Series written by (I think) Michael Reaves--who appears as Captain Reaves in The Romulan Way. And she and Peter both appear in John M. Ford's How Much for Just the Planet? *g*

Yes, she do. *g* I love How Much...? to pieces, personally--I have "mental tunes" for all of the musical numbers.
