As D.D. is a person of the West, her works are naturally going to be influenced by the Bible. Well, it is done purposely even, with the conflict between the Powers and the one that broke away. There is also that thing with the books: there is allways a "book". More isolated non-western cultures have songs, scrolls.. And the Temptation/Choice motif.

Well, what else have you noticed that ties into this influence?
