Mar. 24th, 2005 07:30 pmOKAY EXCITING NEWS
The ErrantryWiki just opened its registrations! Fellow YW nuts, go on and register- at the very least you'll be able to keep up with exciting things like new pages opening; it's convenient for pagewatching; and of course you can hang with the cool people from youngwizards.net and DD herself.
I really think that the ErrantryWiki is a very, very cool thing Diane's doing. I have longtime thought that an author who part-runs her own forums, chats with her fans regularly- er, regularly used advisedly- and posts extensive excerpts from upcoming novels on very extensive and elegant sites is, well, she's great, people. It's a pleasure to be in her fandom. And what the Errantry Wiki is about, well, it will be a sort of encyclopedia of then universe. You know all those notes JKR probably has about all the characters' backgrounds and so forth that we'll never know about- we see it in her extra stuff on her site from time to time? This is basically that. Which is cool enough; she's also mentioned that she plans to put "cut scenes"- scenes that she chopped from drafts- up there if it suits. So, you know, if you're a fan get your ass over there and join because it's just. that. cool. And THANK YOU DD, not that you will ever read this but I'll tell you Sunday anyway.
Why yes, I do <3 YW, why do you ask?
Also, I'm working on a post that should have a LOT of links to fanart. It may even end up being pretty much all fanart because, well, there isn't all that much and this fandom, we're like THIS. *waves fingers around* Just so you know I'm not a total slacker.
ETA: Hang on a sec, for anyone who hasn't previously heard of the Errantry Concordance or hasn't followed its shift to Wiki format, I picked up some links for you:
The main page has basic info on the Concordance and the Wiki.
About the wiki is, er, about the wiki.
There are some Ground Rules...
... and way more excitingly (maybe the most exciting thing) there are future plans!
Yes, okay, I was just leaving to find my life.
