Dec. 11th, 2004 03:45 pmHi there, guys. :)
Hey, would anyone be interested in starting up a fic reccing/posting community, or starting a round of fic recs here? Because YW is a very small fandom, there isn't a huge amount of fic out there, as far as I know- there are about 170 fics at The Pit of Doom (FanFiction.net's YW section) Some of these are really excellent... some of them not so. Anyway, because of our fairly dimunitve size, there haven't been- to my knowledge- any attempts to collate the fics and make them more easy to find, whether by author or 'ship or genre. This can be a little bit annoying- or I think it is.
So... I need some opinions, and possibly offers of help. Would a community be a worthwhile exercise (ie would anyone join it except me?) Should it be on a rec-only-basis (only linking to and archiving fics tht someone, anyone, thinks are worthwhile and is willing to pimp) or on a anything-goes basis (Archive everything... A sort of more-organised ffn.net, with fic collated in the Memories.)? Or something else?
Yeah. Talk to me.

Date: 2004-12-11 11:57 am (UTC)Connie- hmm, I can see why you'd want to keep it here. *shruggles* I was just thinking it'd be easier to memory it and stuff... Plus it'd not annoy people who don't like fic or don't read fic or something.
But if you want to take the project of my hands, that's all good too. :D

Date: 2004-12-11 12:16 pm (UTC)Unless, of course, other people don't want fanfic here. I'll make a poll, then we can find out, 'k?

Date: 2004-12-11 12:25 pm (UTC)*nodnodnod* Poll=good. Find out if people want recs or general, too. :D

Date: 2004-12-11 12:57 pm (UTC)So I'm asking:
1. Do people want fanfic?
2. Should it be here or elsewhere?
3. Recs or general or both? What on earth does that mean?
no subject
Date: 2004-12-11 02:46 pm (UTC)2. Yes
3. Well a rec-only comm would be kind of for people to rec good fics, a place to go for the good stuff... a general community would be one which just took everything. less quality control, I guess.
